Not sure if it will 'solve' all of your problem, but you might like to try this. I did download Recoll (which is actually quite useful and powerful in many ways), which is somewhat useful, but although it does allow me to quickly find text within documents, I then have to do a separate search using the file name to locate its translated equivalent.Īnd if so, are there any workarounds to this? I was hoping for something similar here (with Mint 20.1), but I see that I can only search for file names (and not actual content). (I organize all my work so that both the original and the translated text have the same file name, simply adding "_EN or FR" at the end, depending on the language it was translated in). This was useful in that, as a translator (FR-EN and EN-FR), when looking for a specific expression or combination of words, I could easily locate the original text within the document containing said expression, and right below this document, within the same folder, quickly locate the equivalent text in the translated document. Coming from a Windows environment, I was used to doing a typical search directly within any specific folder, for specific documents containing a specific sentence (with the typical query in quotation marks).
